Washington, D.C. - Drivers hitting the road for Spring Break may be feeling lucky this St. Patrick’s Day as the national average for a gallon of gas is at it’s lowest in 4 years. According to AAA, the national average for gasoline is $3.078 per gallon which is more than 38 cents cheaper than 2024. The 11 percent drop in the cost of regular gasoline isn’t the only good news as the cost of diesel fuel is also down over 11 percent during the same time meaning the cost to transport goods is also falling.
“Energy powers everything in America including our vacations, and thankfully the cost of gas this Spring Break is at the lowest in years because President Trump puts our power first,” said Daniel Turner, Founder and Executive Director for Power The Future. “As millions hit the road this Spring Break, they’re paying the lowest prices in four years without a bailout from the Strategic Petroleum Reserve. As Americans see lower prices at the pump, it might not be long before we see ‘I did that’ stickers featuring President Trump.”
According to the Energy Information Administration, the average cost of gasoline on March 17 over the last few years is $3.704.
2022 - $4.239
2023 - $3.422
2024 - $3.453
