Washington, D.C. - According to AAA, the national average for gasoline is now sitting at $2.998, the lowest price in over four years. Today's gasoline price news comes on the the heels of the latest report showing the United States set another record for oil production at over 13.8 million barrels per day in September of this year.
"Gas prices dropping below $3 a gallon isn't an accident, it's the direct result of real leadership in Washington and reversing the anti-energy policies of the last four years," said Daniel Turner, Founder and Executive Director for Power The Future. "Today's price drop is just further proof that the record energy prices of the past were the result of failed leaders who put our workers and families last. Thankfully, President Trump promised American energy dominance and now our families are seeing the results at the pump."
According to the Energy Information Administration, gas prices were below $3 for only the first four months of former President Biden's term and never returned to that price until today.
