Washington, D.C. - The Biden Administration is again considering drainingthe nation's Strategic Petroleum Reserve (SPR) the summer before a major election. When Biden took office, the SPR level was at over 638 million barrels; today that level is at 370 million, the biggest drawdowns taking place in the lead up to the 2022 midterm elections.

"As Joe Biden takes our strategic petroleum reserve numbers as low as his polling numbers, America's security and stability is weakened in the process," said Daniel Turner, Founder and Executive Director for Power The Future. "Congress needs to put a stop to Biden's draining of the SPR because the SPR is critical to our nation during emergencies and shouldn't be used as Biden's political campaign bailout."
