Washington, D.C. - During his speech to Congress tonight, President Trump highlighted the continued importance of establishing American energy dominance. Despite being in office for less than two months, President Trump has boldly implemented many of the recommendations in Power The Future’s Energy Policy Roadmap for 2025.

”Let’s be clear: What President Trump has accomplished for American energy in less than two months would take any other leader a year,” said Daniel Turner, Founder and Executive Director for Power The Future. “The embarrassing efforts by some to ignore or disrupt America’s energy agenda is just more proof the eco-left has learned nothing since November. Working families want affordable, reliable, American-made energy and those standing in the way of President Trump’s efforts need to re-think their priorities.”

Since his inauguration, President Trump has moved quickly to implement several key energy policies that align with the recommendations outlined in Power The Future’s Energy Policy Roadmap 2025

1. Declaration of a National Energy Emergency

On his first day in office, President Trump declared a National Energy Emergency, citing the need to restore American energy dominance and eliminate burdensome regulations. This move directly supports the roadmap’s recommendation on expanding domestic energy production.

2. Establishment of the National Energy Dominance Council

In February 2025, President Trump signed an executive order creating the National Energy Dominance Council, tasked with streamlining energy production and reducing bureaucratic roadblocks. This initiative reflects the PTF’s call for coordinated policy efforts to achieve energy security.

3. Withdrawal from the Paris Agreement

In line with the roadmap’s recommendation to reevaluate international climate commitments, President Trump officially withdrew the U.S. from the Paris Agreement, because of its negative impact on American energy jobs and competitiveness.

4. Promotion of Oil and Gas Development

The administration has lifted restrictions on oil and gas drilling in federal lands, including the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge, reflecting the PTF’s push for full utilization of domestic energy resources.

5. Expansion of LNG Exports

The Trump administration granted approval for a major Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) export project, supporting the roadmap’s strategy of increasing U.S. energy exports.

6. Eliminate the American Climate Corps

On his first day in office, President Trump issued an executive order that eliminated Joe Biden’s American Climate Corps which was a key recommendation in PTF’s roadmap.

Additionally, Congress recently passed a resolution repealing Joe Biden’s Natural Gas Tax. The measure is awaiting President Trump’s signature.
