Washington, D.C. - In a letter sent to the Department of Justice (DOJ) today, Power The Future (PTF) is calling for an investigation into whether major energy policy decisions under the Biden Administration were issued without the former president’s knowledge or approval. PTF formally requests the DOJ examine which executive actions, particularly the liquefied natural gas (LNG) export pause, were authorized by former President Biden or were merely enacted by unelected officials using an “autopen.”

“Americans deserve to know if these failed energy decisions were truly made by Joe Biden, or if they were signed off by unaccountable bureaucrats operating in the shadows,” said Daniel Turner, Founder and Executive Director for Power The Future. “If these policies were ‘signed’ and enforced without President Biden’s knowledge, we have a constitutional crisis on our hands. These actions directly impacted American energy security and we look forward to a prompt and thorough DOJ investigation.”

If these actions were unauthorized by President Biden, Power The Future is urging the DOJ to notify the courts involved in any ongoing litigation and refer any responsible individuals for possible criminal prosecution.

Concerns over the legitimacy of Biden’s executive orders intensified after House Speaker Mike Johnson publicly stated that former President Biden was unaware of the LNG pause handed down by his own administration. Additionally, reports indicate that former White House Climate Czar John Podesta was personally behind the moratorium, raising further ethical concerns.
