Washington, D.C. - Both Governor Doug Burgum and Lee Zeldin faced separate Senate committees as part of their confirmation process today. President-Elect Trump has picked Governor Burgum to become Secretary of Interior and Mr. Zeldin is appointed to be Director of Environmental Protection Agency (EPA.) Power The Future Founder and Executive Director Daniel Turner attended the hearing for Governor Burgum and issued the following statements for both appointments:
"Doug Burgum is perfect to lead the Interior Department as he brings a critical understanding of the unique challenges and opportunities faced by rural states that power our nation through energy production. Governor Burgum recognizes that unleashing American energy isn't just a win for our economy—it strengthens national security by reducing reliance on foreign resources. His vision for balancing energy innovation with conservation is exactly what we need to secure a prosperous and resilient future for all Americans."
"During the Biden Administration, the EPA was used as a weapon against American energy production and Lee Zeldin will rightfully bring that to an abrupt end. Mr. Zeldin understands no other nation produces energy while better taking care of the environment than the United States and the EPA should be a partner, not an enemy of American energy."
