Albuquerque – The U.S. Energy Administration (EIA) has confirmed what many New Mexicans already know: the state's oil and natural gas workers are at the center of America's historic energy success. According to a new report from the EIA, two counties in New Mexico—Lea and Eddy— accounted for nearly 1 million barrels of oil per day of American production growth between 2020 and 2024. That represents 52 percent of the entire nation's increase during that period.
"The report makes it crystal clear: New Mexico's energy workers are leading the way in powering America," said Larry Behrens, Communications Director for Power The Future. "It's sad, but this recognition from Washington is more than our energy workers have ever received from the Governor during her time in office. These results prove New Mexico's energy workers deserve our gratitude, not more attacks from the eco-left and their allies in Santa Fe."
