Well, looks like warmer weather is bringing out the Dem's sidewalk protesters again. At least passing motorists will have something to entertain them as they patiently await a green light.
However, I've noticed they're intending to add a slightly different twist to their chants on Saturday, March 28. Something calling itself "We the People — All the People" is hooking up with the third installment of the "No Kings" protest, now known as the "No Thrones. No Crowns. No Kings." gathering.
Bring the kids, grandma, and as many friends as you like. The event promises to be more entertaining than an old Three Stooges flick.
And, about as logical.
But, why not also include "No Thinking" in the inscription since it looks like that's the direction they're heading?
Now, I'm not implying their complaints against President Trump are baseless, only that they appear to be misdirected.
Last time I checked, there were no thrones, crowns or kings residing in Washington, D.C. Democrats might find several a few thousand miles further east in Europe or the Middle East; not too many on Capitol Hill or in the White House.
Suppose they finally figured out Trump is actually not Adolph Hitler. That, in fact, Hitler was gone before Trump was born. It took a while for them to piece the picture together, but the really smart ones must have awaken one day and said "Hey, we've been messing up — CNN says some guy named Hitler was killed or died back in 1945. Who knew? Better change our slogan for the next protest, or folks could get the wrong impression that we don't know what we're talking about."
Apparently, their "No Thrones. No Crowns. No Kings." chatter is supposed to be a more factually based upgrade.
They might want to double-check the accuracy of that statement. As far as I know, the closest thing we have in this country to a throne is a device found in a restroom, on which people sit and catch-up on the latest trivia and other frivolities magically emanating from their smartphones.
Fortunately, since we've a 1st Amendment right to shout just about anything we want, yelling Trump is Hitler, a king, a rich doofus or anything else does not automatically imply that's the case — just because some may think so, or wish it to be true.
We also have the Constitutional blessings to be as inquisitive or stupid, as we please. IQ tests are not required for voting — even if it seems like a good idea.
Whether we like it or not, opinions, rumors and hearing it through the grapevine are often disproven by facts and evidence.
Sort of an "Inconvenient truth."
Plus, it doesn't help if the sidewalk protesters are costumed as giant puppets, donkeys, frogs, grasshoppers and other cartoonish characters. If a political statement is to be taken seriously, Sponge Bob is probably not the best choice to emphasize the point.
Although, I'll have to admit he makes more sense than most Lefty activists I've heard.
Besides, by their own admission aren't these "No Kings" protesters trespassing on "stolen land"?
How does that work? Or, is it only Republicans who have stolen the land — even though the Republican Party didn't originate until nearly a hundred years after the Declaration of Independence?
