A Path Forward for New Mexico Republicans: Truth, Action, and Renewal
This isn't the first time in the past decade that RPNM leadership has declared that Democrats were "on the run," Republicans were energized, and victory was just around the corner. And yet, repeatedly, Republican voters across New Mexico could see what party leadership would not: the leadership was out of touch with reality.

How out of touch with reality?
While RPNM announced, "After seeing high turnout and success across the state…", the numbers told a different story. Democrats accounted for 53% of voters on November 4th, even though they represent only 43% of registered voters. And in Lea County, a Republican stronghold, fewer than 20% of registered voters cast a ballot.
Professional Mourners Instead of Leaders
RPNM's response remains the same: a familiar wail about how Democrats have controlled New Mexico for decades and failed to address crime, education, and economic opportunity. All true, but if Democrats have governed poorly, why aren't voters choosing Republican candidates? How do we change that?
We Need Open and Honest Discussion
For more than 40 years, as president and owner of Mick Rich Contractors, I've dealt with financial crises that many thought would bury us. Every comeback began the same way: with an honest assessment of where we stood and an open discussion with the people who could help fix it. That clarity paved the way to our greatest successes.
The next Central Committee meeting should start by ending the "Rule of the Gavel" and opening the floor for an honest discussion of what worked, opportunities for improvement, and how we identify the most conservative candidates who can win in all 33 counties.
We are the Party of Life and Love
Life is a gift: A gift that shouldn't be taken simply because a child has not yet been born. New Mexico needs more birthing centers, not more pregnancy termination centers. We need safe neighborhoods where families gather in front yards, not hide behind backyard fences. We need schools that prepare children for life, not for dependency. We need businesses that value the people of New Mexico as much as they value our clear skies and open spaces.
And we should be unapologetic about what we cherish: The Golden Rule. The Ten Commandments. The Declaration of Independence. The Constitution. And the gifts God has placed in our hands: Clear skies, open spaces, fertile land, abundant energy, strong backs, sharp minds, and the freedom to use them for good.
We are the Party of Action
We believe in giving a hand up to those who've stumbled and a path forward for those reaching for the stars. A bus ticket for those who squander the gifts God has given them to the states that have done the same.
The Republican Party is the only political party that can lift New Mexico off the bottom of all the States.
