Ask someone if they lived their life by a set of principles and they will likely respond that they do. Ask them what the principles are by which they live their life, and you will likely get answers that might be based upon religious teachings, treating people equally or being honest and fair. Either way, I think the most important thing about principles is that they are applied equally in all situations. A set of principles should be morally grounded and allow you to deal with different situations in the same manner. When it comes to the liberal mind, they have one guiding principle; what makes me feel good. Emotions are their guiding principles. A conservative will apply a principle ignoring their emotions.
The recent protests against President Trump's decision to grant asylum to white South Africans illustrates this difference. The crowd that stands on the side of love as long as it's not in their neighborhood, supported letting the poor and the persecuted come to our country without being properly vetted. They celebrate when rogue judges ignore the law and stop the deportation of known criminals that are here illegally. Because most of those immigrants are not white. Thus in the liberal mind they must be helped because they can't do a lot of things to succeed on their own.
We shouldn't even ask those people when they come to our border seeking asylum about the persecution they allegedly faced in their home country that has led them to our border. We should just take their word that their government was trying to kill them for some unknown reason. That the reason they were in prison was not because they committed a heinous crime but because their government didn't like them. But don't you dare apply that same principle to a white person.
In fact, the videos that come up of black people in South Africa show that many, who are members of the government, are shouting for the death of white South Africans. But they say that doesn't mean the government is persecuting Afrikaners. The videos and pictures of the grave sites of white South Africans murdered simply because of the color of their skin and the perception that they were responsible for apartheid are not evidence of racism or genocide.
These people are upset that Donald Trump showed videos of what is going on in South Africa in his meeting with the president of South Africa. They completely ignored the fact, that South Africa's President, Cyril Ramaphosa, did not dispute the claims made by Donald Trump. The two men had a civil conversation about what needs to change in South Africa. The liberals ignored the legislation passed by the South African government that allows for the taking of land without compensation to the owners, specifically targeting white property owners.
If liberals had principles not based upon emotions, they would apply the same rules to all people that want to come to this country. But because apartheid made them feel bad, just as slavery in this country made them feel bad, they believe white people should be punished. It's OK to take their land, to murder them, to leave them destitute and in fear of their lives because of what their ancestors may have done. Never mind that just like this country and slavery, there were white South Africans that opposed the policies of apartheid. But all whites deserve to be punished.
What many of these liberals fail to realize that is that every dictator, every tyrant, every fascist state has used emotions to manipulate the people. That manipulation leads to total government control, persecution of hated demographic groups, unspeakable horrors, and trampling of God-given rights. We are watching it happen in this country but fortunately we have people that have stood up. People willing to get involved and stop the march to tyranny. And true to the principles, the liberals are throwing a tantrum like a 3-year-old that is told they can't have a cookie before dinner.
That's OK to an extent. Those of us that have true principles will be the adults in the room, make the tough decisions, and save them along with our country.
