If you ever thought the media actually wanted to report the truth, if you ever thought that politicians really wanted what was best for America, all you have to do is watch them flip flop on issue after issue depending upon who is in power. Illegal immigration was a big issue under Barack Obama, and he was celebrated for being the "Deporter in Chief" with support from the media and leading politicians. We all know what happens when Donald Trump does the same thing.
You may have seen that Donald Trump recently granted refugee status to 59 people from South Africa, all of whom were white. Much of the corporate propaganda media criticized the decision claiming the only reason they were granted the status was because of the color of their skin. In announcing his decision, Trump told the media that they were victims of racial discrimination, had their land taken from them and were likely targets for genocide. All of which the media claimed was false.
Never mind the fact that the South Africa coalition government passed a law that said land owned by Afrikaners aka Boers, can be confiscated by the government without compensation to the owner. Previous governments have paid owners at least a small amount when they took their lands.
Two political parties that are members of the ruling coalition, Economic Freedom Fighters and Freedom Front Plus, have held several large rallies over the last year in which the major theme is to hunt down and kill Afrikaners. Violence against the notoriety minority in South Africa has been on the increase for years.
Anderson Cooper however said that Trump's grant of refugee status was not justified. He completely ignored what I just told you. Rather he said he had a friend who was an Afrikaner and landowner who was killed several years ago, but it was not genocide. It was a simple crime of murder. That's like saying an Israeli baby killed when it was run over by a Hamas driven jeep on October 7th was killed in an automobile accident.
More importantly Cooper seemed to justify the "land reform" measures being implemented by the South African government by claiming that 72% of all land in South Africa is owned by white people while only 4% of the land is owned by black people. Even the South African government says those numbers are false and had said that long before Anderson Cooper used the numbers in his reporting.
Terrence Corrigan, the Director of Publications for the Institute of Race Relations in South Africa has been fighting against the use of that statistic for years. Those numbers come out of a 2017 report that identified freehold land ownership. Freehold land is rural land owned in the name of an individual and recorded with the state in such a manner. It only makes up about 30% of all property and land owned in South Africa.
Landholding across South Africa – urban and rural – is held in the following manner: individuals, 30.4%; trusts, 24%; the state, 23%; companies, 19%; community-based organizations, 2.9%; and co-ownership schemes, 0.7%. Corrigan says it is almost impossible to identify racial ownership of some of the corporations, trusts and community-based organizations. But what they do know is that blacks own 56% of all land in which ownership can be ascertained.
Putting the facts together paints a very different picture. But just like the president of South Africa, Anderson Cooper and his fellow lemmings in the corporate propaganda media want to paint a picture that minimizes racist policies against anyone other than blacks. Because racism only exists in one area, that area which they believe gives them the best path to power.
