Santa Clara ready for grand opening of bike park

The Village of Santa Clara held a regular meeting May 28, 2026. Mayor Arnold Lopez called the meeting to order. Mayor Pro Tem Albert Esparza, trustees, Peter Erickson, Olga Amador and Ralph Trujillo attended.

The council approved the agenda and past meeting minutes.

Mayor's report

Lopez said they had two ICIP (Infrastructure Capital Improvement Plan) workshops and explained the changes from the previous year. They had also done a walk through to the new bike park project. It will be completed and will have a grand opening June 26, 2026. Music in the park will start June 12, 2026.

Public comments none currently

New business

Patricia Montgomery had come to discuss concerns about 710 Bellm Street. She said the lot has been a disaster and has taken property values down. She wanted to know what recourse she had. The retaining wall also could possibly fall down.

Resolutions

The council approved resolution 2026-07 updating the third quarter budget transfers

Proclamations

The board approved Stage 2 fire restrictions.

The council went into closed session.

The council came back into open session, having only discussed item on the agenda, with no action taken.

First regular meeting will be June 11, 2026, at 6:00 pm
Second regular meeting will be June 25, 2026, at 6:00 pm
