Western New Mexico University celebrated a week's worth of festivities, with one of the culminating events taking place in downtown Silver City prior to the Homecoming game that evening on Saturday, October. 10, 2026.
Included in the parade were the various inductees into the WNMU Hall of Fame.
[Editor's Note: I could not find the other names of the inductees, but one I knew well. Dean Thompson, the editor when I worked at the Silver City Daily Press, before starting my own digital newspaper. He was a joy to work under. Patient and always teaching us better ways to present the news. He was already covering the sports in those days and he continues.]
