...FLOOD WATCH IN EFFECT FROM NOON MDT TODAY THROUGH LATE TONIGHT...

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is possible.

* WHERE...Portions of south central and southwest New Mexico,
including Sierra, Dona Ana, Luna, and eastern Grant Counties and
the Sacramento Mountains in northern Otero County.

* WHEN...From Noon MDT today through 6 AM MDT Friday morning.

* IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers,
creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- Abundant moisture has moved into the region and scattered to
numerous showers and thunderstorms will continue tonight. Many
areas west of the Rio Grande have received a half inch up to 2
inches of rainfall over recent days, so any additional rainfall
could lead to flash flooding. Localized storm amounts of 1 to 2
inches are still possible with the strongest storms and where
storms redevelop over the same area.
