UPDATES CONTINUE: closures and difficult driving conditions 092926

The following are District One roadway maintenance lane closures and traffic alerts. Motorists are urged to exercise caution, reduce speeds, follow posted signs, and be mindful of personnel and equipment in the area. Please note that closures may be canceled without notice due to emergency requirements.

Difficult Driving Conditions – MAGDALENA AREA

US 60 eastbound and westbound from mile marker 135, 3 miles west of Escondida to mile marker 92, 5 miles west of Alamo, low water crossing is running with debris. If roadway is flooded do not cross and seek an alternate route.  NMDOT will notify as conditions change.

NM 169 northbound and southbound from mile marker 0, Magdalena to mile marker 35, 6 miles north of Alamo, low water crossing is running with debris. If roadway is flooded do not cross and seek an alternate route.  NMDOT will notify as conditions change.

Difficult Driving Conditions – CLIFF AREA

NM 78 eastbound and westbound from mile marker 0, Arizona State Line to mile marker 15, at US 180, low water crossing is running with debris. If roadway is flooded do not cross and seek an alternate route.  NMDOT will notify as conditions change.

CLOSURE – DEMING AREA

US 180 eastbound and westbound from mile marker 141, 1 mile east of Faywood Hot Springs to mile marker 164, Deming, is closed due to water is running along dips, with debris all along the roadway, due to heavy rain and flooding. Roadway is impassable. Seek alternate route if possible

OPEN – Hatch Area

I-25 northbound at mile post 44 all lanes are now open.

CLOSURE – HATCH AREA
NM 187 northbound and southbound from mile marker 6, 1 mile north of Salem to mile marker 8, 2 miles south of Garfield, is closed due to water is running along dips, with debris all along the roadway, due to heavy rain and flooding. Roadway is impassable. Seek alternate route if possible.

CLOSURE – Hatch Area
I-25 northbound at mile post 44 all lanes are closed due to water and debris on roadway is impassable, due to heavy rain and flooding. Traffic in being rerouted at milepost 41.

Difficult Driving Conditions – ANIMAS AREA
NM 9 from mile post 0 to mile post 13 has low water crossing is running with debris. If roadway is flooded do not cross and seek an alternate route. NMDOT will notify as conditions change.

CLOSURE - Cliff Area
NM 174 at mile post 1 to mile post 5 is closed due to water and debris on roadway is impassable, due to heavy rain and flooding. Seek alternate route if possible. Residents will be allowed through.

Difficult Driving Conditions in Lordsburg Area
NM 92 from mile post 0 to mile post 5, low water crossing is running with debris. If roadway is flooded do not cross and seek an alternate route. NMDOT will notify as conditions change.

CLOSURE-DEMING AREA
US 180 at mile post 164 is closed due to water and debris on roadway is impassable, due to heavy rain and flooding. Seek alternate route if possible.

WATER RUNNING – HATCH AREA
NM 187 Difficult Driving Conditions, NM 187 northbound and southbound from mile marker 0 Hatch to mile marker 36, Williamsburg, low water crossing is running with debris. If roadway is flooded do not cross and seek an alternate route. NMDOT will notify as conditions change.

CLOSURE
NM 27 from mile post 0 to mile post 30 is closed due to water is running along dips, with debris all along the roadway, due to heavy rain and flooding. Roadway is impassable. Seek alternate route if possible.

DEMING (LUNA COUNTY) AREA HEAVY RAINFALL
Please be advised the Luna County area is receiving heavy rainfall. Roadways are wet and slick, visibility may be low, please reduce speed and proceed with caution.

Difficult Driving Conditions in Lordsburg Area
NM 113 from mile post 10 to mile post 15, low water crossing is running with debris. If roadway is flooded do not cross and seek an alternate route. NMDOT will notify as conditions change.


DIFFICULT DRIVING CONDITIONS:
WATER RUNNING – SILVER CITY AREA
NM 15 from mile post 10 to 42, low water crossing is running with debris. If roadway is flooded do not cross and seek an alternate route. NMDOT will notify as conditions change.


NM 35 (Mimbres) from mile post 5 to 27, low water crossing is running with debris. If roadway is flooded do not cross and seek an alternate route. NMDOT will notify as conditions change.


NM 61 (Faywood to San Juan) from mile post 16 to 25, low water crossing is running with debris. If roadway is flooded do not cross and seek an alternate route. NMDOT will notify as conditions change.
