Silver City -- The Silver City Museum Living History Project made its public debut at the museum's 42nd Annual July 4th Ice Cream Social, with Theora Ailman, Madame Millie, and Ben Lilly, costumed and interacting with some 700 community members who gathered to enjoy the holiday festivities.
The project is a partnership with Silver Community Theatre, and local actors are taking on the roles of key figures from Grant County's fascinating past. Pictured left to right: Ben Lilly, portrayed by Charlie Vana; Madame Millie, portrayed by Barb Totherow; and Theora Ailman, interpreted by Phyllis McQuaide.
Jim Charleston, president of the Silver Community Theatre, said the project is just getting started and actors are still welcome to participate. "This is a great opportunity for people who are passionate about acting and history to engage with the community in historical improv, and really stretch themselves and their acting abilities."
