Silver City Clay Festival returns June 15–21, 2026, bringing together artists, educators, and the public for a week of workshops, exhibitions, and events centered around clay.

The annual festival highlights both contemporary and traditional approaches to ceramics, creating space for hands-on learning, dialogue, and community engagement. Programming includes multi-day workshops, artist talks, exhibitions, a regional Clay Market, and activities for youth and families.

A featured component of this year's festival is the 5-day workshop, Clay in Three Dimensions: Developing Concept, Constructing Form, and Activating Surface, led by artists Penelope Van Grinsven, Bradley Klem, and Stephanie Seguin. The workshop explores ceramic practice through multiple approaches, encouraging participants to engage with concept development, construction methods, and surface treatment.

The festival also includes a call for entries for Convergence, a juried exhibition highlighting a range of contemporary ceramic practices. Artists working in clay are invited to submit work, with selected pieces featured as part of the festival's exhibition programming.

In addition to workshops, the Clay Market will showcase work by regional makers, offering functional and sculptural ceramics directly to the public. Exhibitions and additional programming will continue to be announced in the coming weeks.
