The fiber art fashions made by members of SWFAC showcase one-of-a-kind designs, unique accessories and home decor. The show will be held Saturday, April 4, 2026 at 1 pm with doors opening at 12:30 pm at The Hearth located at 1915 N. Swan Street in Siver City, NM. Funds raised by the event will go to support classes, outreach to the community, and sales events.
SWFAC was founded in 2005 to provide rural fiber artists a means to earn income, share fiber art skills with others and promote fiber art as a cottage industry. The fashion show not only raises funds for SWFAC but provides income to the members that sell their work at the show.
"Many of the fashions and accessories for the fashion show will be available for sale immediately after the show." Lisa Rush, show chair continues, "All of the fashions are one-of-a-kind and include handwoven, knitted, felted, hand-dyed silks, hand sewn, upcycled, quilted items and so much more. We have great models lined up, both men and women, and we are so excited to share this experience with the community."
The Grant County Community Concert Association presents The Waddington Brothers, a Bluegrass and western music band, Thursday, March 5 in the WNMU Fine Arts Theater at 7 PM.
The Waddington Brothers, a band of four brothers from rural North Dakota, perform what they live: a mixture of traditional bluegrass, gospel music, and Western strains reminiscent of The Sons of the Pioneers.
Seth, Ethan, Jacob, and Job Waddington skillfully blend cowboy and bluegrass music with their rich, vocal harmonies and instrumental versatility. From hard-driving bluegrass to more mellow acoustic tones, this quartet has developed a sound that is truly as strong as it is special.
