(Mimbres, NM, April 13, 2026) — The Gila National Forest, together with partners Bat Conservation International and Fowler Brothers Construction, will be completing much needed road repairs on National Forest System Road 150 ("North Star Road") near Diamond Creek in late April and early May 2026.

Work is scheduled to begin the week of April 13 and forest visitors should expect temporary road closures Monday through Friday between 7:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. Visitors may also occasionally encounter heavy haul-truck traffic between Beaverhead Workcenter and the project area.

Fowler Brothers Construction will be upgrading road infrastructure on a 1.7-mile segment of the North Star Road between mileposts 33 and 35, just north of Diamond Creek. Planned work includes installing new culverts and drainage features, widening the road, adding durable road surfacing, and improving stormwater drainage and management.
