SILVER CITY, NM — The Silver High School Class of 2006 is thrilled to announce its 20-year reunion, bringing alumni, friends, and their families together to reconnect and reminisce. A weekend of events is planned for Saturday, August 1, and Sunday, August 2, in Silver City.
The reunion will feature two main gatherings:
Saturday, August 1: Alumni will kick off the celebration with an evening mixer at The Seedboat Collective, located at 214 W. Yankie Street. This downtown event space will host a family-friendly evening of socializing, drinks, and music from 6 to 9 p.m. Cash bar by Open Space Brewing and food for purchase from Fire & Ice Pizza.
Sunday, August 2: The celebration continues with a potluck at the Little Walnut Picnic Area in the Gila National Forest. Alumni and their families are invited to kick back with each other, some yard games, and more good food from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Attendees are encouraged to bring a dish to share, a drink to sip on, lawn chairs, and yard games.
"Twenty years have flown by, and we can't wait to bring the Class of 2006 back together," said Erin [Hare] Daisley, who was President of the 2006 graduating class. "We planned the weekend's events to give everyone a chance to reconnect with old friends and find common ground with people we didn't spend as much time with back during our school days."
"Our 20-year reunion is a great reminder that, no matter where life takes us, we'll always share the memories and connections that started in Silver City," says Ashley [Redman] Portwood, who is on the planning committee. "I'm looking forward to celebrating those friendships and the community that brought us together."
