Amy Chavez Becerra, 64, a resident of Santa Clara, NM entered eternal rest Wednesday, May 13, 2026 at Fort Bayard Medical Center. She was born December 20, 1961 in Silver City, NM to Hilario Chavez and Bertha Madrid.
She will be remembered for her warmth, her generosity, and the unconditional love she gave her family. She lived to her fullest, enjoyed spending time with family especially her grandchildren. She enjoyed cooking and baking and going for a "cruise". Amy was one of the strongest women even till the very end. She touched many hearts and will be deeply missed.
She is survived by a son, Jeramy Becerra of Santa Clara; two daughters, Bertha Rose Becerra (Gabriel) of Silver City; Amy Rose Becerra of Albuquerque; five grandchildren; four brothers, Ronnie Chavez (Katy) of Hurley; Tommy Chavez of Tyrone; Ricky Fierro (Marina) of Silver City; Charlie Fierro (Wendy) of Victoria, TX; numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, father of her children, Steve Becerra; her son, Jessie Ray Becerra; her daughter, Angel Rose Becerra; two sisters, Judy Kirker and Lori Fierro.
Visitation will be Wednesday, May 20th from 5-6pm at Terrazas Funeral Chapels with the prayer vigil and holy rosary to commence at 6pm with Deacon Art Gutierrez reciting. The funeral mass will be celebrated on Thursday, May 21st at 10am at Hurley Infant Jesus Shrine with Father Casmir Anozie officiating. Concluding service, interment will follow at Hurley cemetery. Pallbearers are Jeramy Becerra, Jeramy (Andres) Becerra, Rito Medina, Miklo Fierro, Christopher Medina, and Michael Contreras.
