Gloria Altamirano Obituary
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Gloria Altamirano Madrid. Gloria lived a life rooted in faith, love, compassion, and service to others.
Gloria was a devoted and loving wife to Raul Madrid, whose love and partnership were a blessing throughout their years together.
For more than 20 years, Gloria faithfully served at St. Ann Catholic Church. She began her journey there as a secretary and ultimately served in her final role as Office Manager. Throughout her years of service, she dedicated herself to many ministries, assisting families through bereavement, helping coordinate weddings, quinceañeras, and baptisms, and serving as a catechism teacher. She was also a devoted member of the Apostolado del Sagrado Corazón de Jesús and a proud Cursillista, living her faith through service, prayer, and love for others.
Gloria had a true servant's heart. She was known for her joyful spirit, warm smile, and welcoming personality. She found great fulfillment in helping others and touched countless lives through her kindness, generosity, and unwavering faith. Many within the church and community came to know her as someone who always made others feel loved, supported, and valued.
Above all, Gloria treasured her family. She loved celebrating birthdays, holidays, and every special occasion with her sisters, brothers, nieces, nephews, and loved ones. Being surrounded by family brought her immense joy, and the memories she created will be cherished forever.
Though our hearts are broken, we find comfort in knowing that Gloria is now at peace in the loving presence of God, reunited with her parents. Her legacy of faith, service, love, and devotion to family will continue to inspire all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Gloria is survived by her spouse, Raul Madrid; 2 step-children. Eric Madrid and Adrian (Brianna) Madrid; 2 brothers, Apolonio Altamirano and Jose Antonio "Tony" (Isabel) Altamirano; 8 sisters, Dolores (Margarito) Renteria, Hermelinda Altamirano, Lupe Honeycutt, Lorenza (Eloite) Lively, Julisa Altamirano, Alma V. Altamirano, and Grizelda Altamirano; 26 nieces and nephews, 23 great nieces and nephews, and 8 great-great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Antonio and Armida Altamirano.
A viewing will be held on Friday, August 14, 2026 from 5 to 6 o'clock in the evening at St. Ann Catholic Church where the recitation of the Holy Rosary will be recited at 6 led by Maria Lozano. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, August 15, 2026 at 11 o'clock in the morning at St. Ann Catholic Church followed by the rite of committal and interment at Mountain View Cemetery. Fr. Francis Gyau will be officiating.
Receiving the final honor to serve as Gloria's pallbearers will be Adrian Madrid, Eric Madrid, Abel Renteria, Matthew Daniel, Ezra Gray, and Ryan Honeycutt.
Honorary Pallbearers will serve as Polin (Apolonio) Altamirano and Tony (Antonio) Altamirano.
