MontoyaLawrenceLawrence Roy Montoya Jr., 52, a resident of Arenas Valley, NM, entered eternal rest on Tuesday, May 12, 2026, at his residence.  He was born on September 12, 1973 to Lawrence Montoya Sr., and Gloria Hernandez Candelaria.

In his lifetime, Lawrence was a man of many talents and an incredibly hard worker. He brought his dedication and skill to his work with Texaco, Freeport-McMoRan, Turner Brothers, Roto-Rooter, and Satellite Solutions. As a gifted handyman and mechanic, he successfully owned and operated "Montoya Handyman Services" for many years.

Lawrence found his greatest joy in spending time with his family, friends, especially his children and grandchildren. He loved the simple moments that became treasured memories—riding his motorcycles, going fishing, playing his guitars, flying drones, and having family cookouts. With a deep love for the outdoors, you could almost always find him outside in his yard happily working on a project or fixing whatever needed repair. He also had a well-known love for a good cup of coffee and something sweet. His love for his family and friends was entirely unconditional, and he dedicated his life to caring for those he loved most.

Lawrence will always be remembered for his gentle heart, his beautiful smile, his unwavering love, and an unforgettable laugh that could light up any room. He had a special way of making everyone around him feel comfortable, cared for, and deeply welcomed.

He was truly an amazing father, grandpa, son, brother, uncle, and friend. His presence will be deeply missed, but his love and memory will live on forever in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his sons, Larry Montoya III, David Montoya, his daughters, Adrianna Montoya (Gabriella), Samantha Montoya, Brianna Montoya, his sisters, Vivian Flores, Lori Hernandez, Patricia Montoya, his grandchildren, Mario, Matthew, Giovanni, Desmond, Divinity, Daaze, Davian, Audoniel, Aucielo, Kehlani, DImitri, Dezryn, his girlfriend Charisma Martinez, and numerous nieces and nephews.  He is preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence and Gloria, his nephew Robert Montoya, and Nina Lillian Martinez.
