Margaret "Peggy" Lucero, of Silver City passed away March 3, 2026, in Santa Clara, New Mexico

Visitation will be from 8:30 to 9:30 on Saturday, March 14, 2026, at Santa Clara Catholic Church. The recitation of the Holy Rosary will follow at 9:30. The Funeral Liturgy will be at 10:30. The Rite of Committal and burial will follow at Santa Clara Cemetery. Officiation will be Father Casmir Anozie. Having the honor of being her casket bearers will be Carlos Lucero, Steven Lucero, Paden Lucero, Alicia Trujillo, Marisa Trujillo, and Jacob Trujillo.

"Peggy" as she was affectionately known was born in Santa Rita, NM to Dolores and Aurora Carbajal Heredia. Peggy had worked and retired from Fort Bayard Medical Center. She was a former Girl Scout Leader as well as a member of the Moose and the Silver City Woman's Club.

Peggy is survived by her husband, Lorenzo "Lencho" of Silver City; four children, Manuel (Priscilla) Lucero of Silver City, Raymond (Jennifer) Lucero of Republic MO, Jennifer (Larry) Trujillo of Silver City, and Sally (Eric) Munoz of Bayard, NM; grandchildren, Carlos (Michele) Lucero of Silver City, Steven (partner, Bianca) Lucero of Silver City, Paden Lucero of Republic, MO, and Alicia Trujillo, Marisa Trujillo and Jacob Trujillo all of Silver City; three great grandchildren David Lucero, Benjamin Lucero and Ezekiel Lucero all of Silver City; close nephew, Tudi (Tammie) Trujillo of Faywood, NM ; and numerous nieces, nephews and God-children. Also surviving her are her siblings, Lencho Heredia of Las Cruces, NM; Ramona (Tita) Parra of Deming, NM; Lolo Jr. (Sharon) Heredia of Burk, NY; Josie Heredia of Las Vegas, NV; Martin Heredia of CA; Lucy (Johnny) Sosaya of Santa Clara, NM; Marion Gonzales of Las Cruces, NM; Rita Sosaya of Seattle WA; Johnny (Carol) Heredia of Bayard, NM; and her beloved pet dog "Kiki". Peggy was preceded in death by her parents Dolores and Aurora; and two sisters, Laura Holguin and Rosie Delfin.
