EnriquezMariaMaria B. Enriquez, 87, a lifelong resident of Deming, New Mexico, entered eternal rest peacefully at her home on Saturday, March 7, 2026, surrounded by her loving family.

Maria was born on May 20, 1938, in Flores Magon, Chihuahua, to her loving parents, Simon and Celestina Chavez. She lived a life filled with love, devotion, and family.

On March 2, 1957, she married the love of her life, Alfredo Enriquez, beginning a beautiful journey that would span 48 wonderful years together. Their marriage was built on love, commitment, and countless cherished memories.

She found her greatest joy in being surrounded by her family. She was always a proud grandmother to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and she had the special honor of becoming a great-great-grandmother. Her love for her family was unconditional, and the time spent together meant everything to her.

Maria will be remembered for her warmth, her strength, and the deep love she had for those around her. Her presence brought comfort and happiness to so many, and her memory will continue to live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.

She will be greatly missed by all who cherished her.

She is survived by her daughter, Maria Gallegos; her son, Jose Alfredo (Toty) Enriquez; her brother, Florencio (Hermila) Chavez; and her two sisters-in-law, Mely Larrea and Elvira Chavez.

She is also survived by her grandchildren: Lidia (Roberto) Barba, Lorena (Jose) Jimenez, Juan(Rochelle) Enriquez, Javier (Ashley) Gallegos, and Yoli Enriquez (Luis Nevarez).

Her legacy continues through her great-grandchildren: Cassandra Barba, Monica Barba (Elijah Gomez), Jose Jimenez (Jadyn Tresner), Maribel Enriquez, Carlos Jimenez, Ezekiel Gallegos, Sophia Gallegos, Adylenne Enriquez, Mia Enriquez, Makayla Enriquez, Dominic Nevarez, and Olivia Gallegos; and her great-great-granddaughter, Kaylani Gomez.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Simon and Celestina Chavez; her husband, AlfredoEnriquez; her grandson, Jorge Luis Enriquez; and her brother, Jorge Chavez.

Serving as pallbearers will be Juan Enriquez, Javier Gallegos, Jose A. Jimenez, Carlos Jimenez, Ezekiel Gallegos, and Jose L. Jimenez. Honorary pallbearers will be Luis Nevarez and Roberto Barba.

Visitation will take place Thursday, March 18, 2026 at 5 o'clock in the afternoon, recitation of the Holy Rosary at 6 o'clock in the afternoon at Baca's Funeral Chapel. Mass of the Christian Burial on Friday, March 19, 2026 at 11 o'clock in the morning at Holy Family Catholic Church with internment to follow at Mountain View Cemetery with Fr. Prakasham Babu, officiating.
