Milo Richard Lambert

Milo Richard Lambert, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and man of deep faith, passed away on September 11, 2026, at the age of 93.
Born on March 16, 1933, in Kamas, Utah, Milo eventually made his way to Silver City, New Mexico, where he lived and raised his family for 59 years. Silver City became home, and the community, mountains, and landscape of southwestern New Mexico became an important part of the life he built here.
Milo had a lifelong love of geology and the earth beneath our feet. That passion led him to work in the mines, where he could pursue his fascination with rocks, minerals, and the geological world he found so captivating. His work was more than simply a way to make a living—it connected him to something he genuinely loved.
Faith was another cornerstone of Milo's life. His relationship with The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints shaped his values and provided him with a deep sense of purpose throughout his life. His faith was woven into the way he lived, loved, and cared for his family.
In 1955, Milo married the love of his life, Evelyn Lambert. For 70 years, Milo and Evelyn shared a marriage built on love, devotion, faith, and family. The life they created together continues to live through their children, grandchildren, and the generations that follow. Their love remains a lasting part of the family they built.
Milo leaves behind a legacy measured not only in years, but in relationships. Milo was a devoted father to his three children: Richard Kelly Lambert, Deanna Lyn Hankins, and Milo E. Lambert, and adopted son Kenneth Hunt. He was also a proud grandfather to 18 grandchildren, and his family extended even further through his three siblings and more than 60 nieces and nephews.
Those who knew Milo will remember his strong convictions, his love of family, his faith, his fascination with geology, and, perhaps most memorably, his sense of humor. Although he was 93 years old when he passed, Milo insisted he was only 47—because, as he would explain, "they changed the calendar" on him. That bit of humor was uniquely Milo and is sure to be remembered and repeated by the family for years to come.
His life was rooted in faith, family, hard work, curiosity, and love. The lessons he taught, the stories he told, the laughter he shared, and the love he gave will continue through the generations. Milo Richard Lambert will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever a part of the family he cherished
Visitation will be Wednesday, September 23rd from 10-11am at The Church of Jesus Christ Latter-Day Saints in Silver City, NM. The funeral service will commence at 11am with Bishop Brad Chadwick officiating. Concluding service, interment will follow at Memory Lane cemetery where he will be laid to rest by his wife. Pallbearers are Milo E. Lambert, Richard K. Lambert, Milo R. Lambert III, Kalab Lambert, Richard K. Lambert Jr., and Dylan Strempke.
