(Truth or Consequences, NM, August 7, 2026) — Beginning Monday, Aug. 10, crews will replace cattleguards along Forest Service Road (FSR) 522 in the Tierra Blanca area, southeast of Kingston. The road will remain open. At the cattleguard replacement sites, motorists may open the livestock gates to pass through and continue along the road, closing the gates behind them. This work is expected to last through Friday.
There will be work crews and heavy equipment present along FSR 522 during the replacement process. Please slow down, drive carefully, and watch for workers and slow or stopped vehicles.
