State recalls medical cannabis edible GH Kush Pops lollipops exceed legal THC limit

SANTA FE – The state has ordered a mandatory recall of a medical cannabis lollipop after regulators found it exceeded the legal THC limit.

The Cannabis Control Division determined that the edible cannabis product, manufactured by GH LLC and sold under the name "GH Kush Pops" contained 200 mg of total THC per package, with two individual 100 mg lollipops. Under New Mexico law, medical cannabis products may contain no more than 50 mg of THC per serving. No health-related complaints have been reported to the division in connection with this recall.

All licensed retailers are required to immediately remove this product from shelves. Full product information, including an example of the product's packaging and a list of retail locations that received the product, can be found on the division's website.

Medical cannabis products are reserved for those who hold a medical cannabis ID card issued by the New Mexico Department of Health. Medical patients who purchased this product should review the product information and may contact the retailer for return or disposal options.

Consumption of higher-than-permitted THC levels may increase the risk of adverse effects, including impairment, anxiety, dizziness, rapid heart rate, or other unintended reactions.

Anyone with health-related concerns should contact the New Mexico Poison and Drug Information Center at 1-800-222-1222 or consult their healthcare provider.

Consumers with non-health-related complaints may contact the Cannabis Control Division.
