I-25 Roadway Rehabilitation Project, Mile Marker 124-125, Socorro County CN1102180
FNF Inc. (Contractor) will be continuing a roadway rehabilitation project on I-25 between Socorro and T or C from mile marker 124 to 125 on the southbound passing lane as needed for milling and paving operations. The contractor's hours of operation will be from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m., Tuesday, March 3, to Wednesday, March 4, 2026.
I-25 Lane Closure, Mile Marker 43, Hatch
Mountain States Constructors Inc. (Contractor) will have a lane closure in place on both the northbound driving right lanes and southbound passing left lane of I-25 at mile marker 43 for heavy equipment entry into the materials pit. Please reduce speeds and follow posted construction signage. This closure will be in place Monday through Friday from 5:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.
I-25 Roadway Rehabilitation Project, Mile Marker 5.9 to 10.5, Las Cruces to Dona AnaLC00384
Mountain States Constructors Inc. (Contractor) has begun a roadway reconstruction project on I-25 from Las Cruces to just north of Dona Ana. Lane closures will be in place on both the northbound and southbound lanes for milling ang paving operations. Speed limits will be reduced throughout the project. Contractor's working hours will be 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday, with the possibility of weekend work. This project is expected to be completed by the end of April.
I-25 Business Loop Roadway Rehabilitation Project, T or C Downtown
This upcoming safety initiative will modify the roadway striping to mitigate municipal safety concerns about fire truck access while still addressing the key concerns identified in the safety plan. The road diet enhancement project does specifically target traffic calming and driver guiding to enhance safety for all roadway users.
New Pavement Markings: We're reconfiguring the road markings to mitigate municipal safety concerns while maintaining the road diet concept. Upgraded Signs & New Installations: Keep an eye out for new and clearer signs to guide you along the road with ease. Delineator Systems: These new markers will improve visibility and prevent vehicles from accidentally entering into the bikeway. Other Construction Enhancements: Various updates, including radar speed feedback units, will support the road users, ensuring smoother and safer traffic flow for everyone.
What's Next: These upgrades will be observed and evaluated to determine if future improvements would further enhance the safety on the road. This project has been funded through the NMDOT Highway Safety Improvement Program (HSIP) and will be let for construction in the Winter of 2025.

NM 26, roadway repairs, mile marker 38 to 39, Hatch
Hatch Patrol Maintainers will begin making repairs to NM 26 from mile marker 38 to 39 just past the Uvas Dairy. Lanes closures will be in place with a flagging operation, be prepared to stop. Operations will be in place daily from 7 am to 4 pm from Monday, March 2 through Friday, March 6, 2026.
NM 213 & NM 404, Roadway Widening, Mile Marker 0 to 2, Chaparral E100321/322
FNF Construction Inc. (Contractor) has begun roadway reconstruction project on NM 213 and NM 404. This project was placed into suspension as on February 25, 2026, due to unforeseen issues impacting ongoing construction.
NM 101, University Ave ADA and sidewalk installation, Las Cruces HW2M101039
A Mountain Const. (Contractor) will continue to remove and replace sidewalks, ADA ramps and driveways along University Ave from. Main St. (NM 478) to College Ave. Lane closures will be in place in both the eastbound and westbound lanes with reduced speed limits. Working days are Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. This project is expected to be completed by mid-March.
NM 101, University Ave Multimodal Project, Mesilla LC00290
La Calerita Construction, LLC. (Contractor) will be continuing the multi-modal project on University Avenue/New Mexico State Road 101 from Avenida de Mesilla to South Main Street. The following traffic impacts are now in place:
Only one lane of eastbound traffic will be open on NM 101 (University Ave) between Avenida de Mesilla and S Main Street Traffic heading westbound is detoured to W Union Ave. Access will be maintained to all residents and Zia Middle School.
This phase is expected to last through April 2026. Additional construction phases will follow, with the project expected to be completed in Fall of 2026. Work hours are Monday-Friday 7 a.m.-4:30 p.m. although the contractor may work longer hours or on weekends as needed. All construction is weather permitting and is subject to change without notice. NM 169, Sewer Line Installation, Mile Marker 23 to 29, Alamo
Smith Co. Construction (Contractor) will be installing a sewer line along NM 169 from mile marker 23 to 29, shoulder work with occasional lane closures may be in place. Working hours are from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and work is expected to be completed by March 30, 2026.
NM 11, Box Culvert, Mile Marker .08, Columbus Port of Entry
Morrow Ent. Inc. (Contractor) will be constructing a concrete box at the intersection of NM 11 and El Paso Ave, just north of the Port of Entry. Speed limits will be reduced, please obey traffic control devices. The contractor's hours of operation will be from 6:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday and work is expected to be completed by Fall 2026.
City of Las Cruces Projects:
Casa Linda Acres Subdivision
As part of the Casa Linda Acres Reconstruction Project, Spartan Construction of NM, LLC, will be maintaining road closures on Avenida Blanco from South Valley Drive to Calle Del Encanto, and on Calle Del Sol from Avenida de Mesilla to West Brown Road. Closures will be implemented through April 24, 2026. Access will be maintained for residents; motorists are urged to follow all posted signs.
N. Melendres St.
Las Cruces Motorist are advised that N. Melendres St. between W. Hadley Ave. and W. Picacho Ave. will continue with the Reconstruction Project by A-Mountain Construction. During construction, access to N. Melendres St. will not be permitted to through traffic. Signage and detours will be present directing traffic around the work zone. The work is expected to be completed by May 8, 2026.

Upcoming Weekend Closure

Martin Luther King (FM-3255) north and southbound between Stan Roberts (FM-2529) and O'Hara Road (NM-404) Local traffic will be allowed to access businesses and residences between O-Hara Road and the Texas/New Mexico State Line
Detour: Traffic will use NM-404, I-10, Loop 375 (Woodrow Bean/Transmountain), and US-54.
Crews will be working on a traffic switch to allow for construction of Martin Luther King new road configuration.
