Interstates: 

I-10 Bridge Deck Repairs, Mile Marker 102 to 105, Deming/AkelaHW2M700118

Hasse Contracting Co. (Contractor) will begin making repairs to the bridge decks on I-10 at mile marker 102 then moving to mile marker 105. The structure at mile marker 102 will begin in the westbound driving lane then moving to the passing lane as needed, one lane will remain open at all times. Overnight lane closures will remain in place until the repairs are completed. Once complete, crews will move to the bridge deck at mile marker 105 in the eastbound lane. Lane closures will be in place as needed. Please reduce speeds and follow construction signage. This project is expected to be completed by May. 

I-25 Roadway Rehabilitation Project, Mile Marker 125 to 139, south of SocorroCN1102190

Mountain States Constructors Inc. (Contractor) has begun a roadway reconstruction project on I-25 from mile marker 125 to mile marker 139(San Antonio) Lane closures will be in place on both the southbound and northbound lanes for milling and paving operations. Speed limits will be reduced throughout the project. Contractor's working hours will be 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday, with the possibility of weekend work. 

I-25 Roadway Rehabilitation Project, Mile Marker 124 to 125, south of San Antonio

FNF Construction Inc. (Contractor) will be making roadway repairs to I 25 southbound from mile marker 124 to 125 due to pavement conditions.  This lane closure will be in place overnight, please reduce speeds and follow construction signage. Repairs are expected to be completed by the end of March. 

I-25 Lane Closure, Mile Marker 43, Hatch

Mountain States Constructors Inc. (Contractor) will have a lane closure in place on both the northbound driving right lanes and southbound passing left lane of I-25 at mile marker 43 for heavy equipment entry into the materials pit. Please reduce speeds and follow posted construction signage. This closure will be in place Monday through Friday from 5:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. 

I-25 Roadway Rehabilitation Project, Mile Marker 5.9 to 10.5, Las Cruces to Dona AnaLC00384

Mountain States Constructors Inc. (Contractor) has begun a roadway reconstruction project on I-25 from Las Cruces to just north of Dona Ana. Lane closures will be in place on both the northbound and southbound lanes for milling and paving operations. Speed limits will be reduced throughout the project. Contractor's working hours will be 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday, with the possibility of weekend work. This project is expected to be completed by the end of April. 

***Monday, March 16, through Tuesday March 17, 2026, the southbound and northbound driving lane and on/off ramps at exit 6 (US 70/Las Cruces interchange) will be closed for paving operations, please seek alternate route. ***Thursday, March 19, through Friday March 20, 2026, the northbound driving lane and on/off ramps at exit 9 (Dona Ana) will be closed for paving operations, please seek alternate route. 

I-25 Business Loop Roadway Rehabilitation Project, T or C Downtown

Roadsafe Traffic Systems (Contractor) will begin making pavement marking adjustments to the downtown T or C area starting on March 23rd. Lane closures will be in place for the contractor to eradicate existing striping and will then fog seal the area. This project is expected to take no more than 60 working days.  Contractors' working hours are Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. 

The road diet enhancement project does specifically target traffic calming and driver guiding to enhance safety for all roadway users. This project will be reconfiguring the road markings to mitigate municipal safety concerns while maintaining the road diet concept.  New and clear signage will be installed to guide you along the road with ease. A new Delineator System will improve visibility and prevent vehicles from accidentally entering into the bikeway. Other Construction Enhancements will include radar speed feedback units, will support the road users, ensuring smoother and safer traffic flow for everyone.

US Roadways:

State Roadways:

NM 213 & NM 404, Roadway Widening, Mile Marker 0 to 2, Chaparral E100321/322

FNF Construction Inc. (Contractor) has begun roadway reconstruction project on NM 213 and NM 404. This project was placed into suspension as on February 25, 2026, due to unforeseen issues impacting ongoing construction. 

NM 101, University Ave ADA and sidewalk installation, Las Cruces HW2M101039

A Mountain Const. (Contractor) will continue to remove and replace sidewalks, ADA ramps and driveways along University Ave from. Main St. (NM 478) to College Ave. Lane closures will be in place in both the eastbound and westbound lanes with reduced speed limits. Working days are Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. This project is expected to be completed by mid-March. 

NM 101, University Ave Multimodal Project, Mesilla LC00290

La Calerita Construction, LLC. (Contractor) will be continuing the multi-modal project on University Avenue/New Mexico State Road 101 from Avenida de Mesilla to South Main Street. The following traffic impacts are now in place:

Only one lane of eastbound traffic will be open on NM 101 (University Ave) between Avenida de Mesilla and S Main Street Traffic heading westbound is detoured to W Union Ave. Access will be maintained to all residents and Zia Middle School.

This phase is expected to last through April 2026. Additional construction phases will follow, with the project expected to be completed in Fall of 2026. Work hours are Monday-Friday 7 a.m.-4:30 p.m. although the contractor may work longer hours or on weekends as needed. All construction is weather permitting and is subject to change without notice. NM 169, Sewer Line Installation, Mile Marker 23 to 29, Alamo

Smith Co. Construction (Contractor) will be installing a sewer line along NM 169 from mile marker 23 to 29, shoulder work with occasional lane closures may be in place. Working hours are from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and work is expected to be completed by March 30, 2026.

NM 11, Box Culvert, Mile Marker .08, Columbus Port of Entry

Morrow Ent. Inc. (Contractor) will be constructing a concrete box at the intersection of NM 11 and El Paso Ave, just north of the Port of Entry. Speed limits will be reduced, please obey traffic control devices. The contractor's hours of operation will be from 6:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday and work is expected to be completed by Fall 2026.

Chip Seal Projects, Luna Co:

NM 9, Fog Sealing, Mile Marker 87 to 109, Columbus

NMDOT Maintainers will be assisting Seal Master with Fog Sealing operations on NM 9 from Animas to the Dona Ana/Luna County line. A pilot car operation will be in place. Hours of operation will be Monday to Thursday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Reduced speeds and no center striping will be in place until completion of all projects. 

City of Las Cruces Projects:

Casa Linda Acres Subdivision

As part of the Casa Linda Acres Reconstruction Project, Spartan Construction of NM, LLC, will be maintaining road closures on Avenida Blanco from South Valley Drive to Calle Del Encanto, and on Calle Del Sol from Avenida de Mesilla to West Brown Road. Closures will be implemented through April 24, 2026. Access will be maintained for residents; motorists are urged to follow all posted signs.

N. Melendres St.

Las Cruces Motorist are advised that N. Melendres St. between W. Hadley Ave. and W. Picacho Ave. will continue with the Reconstruction Project by A-Mountain Construction. During construction, access to N. Melendres St. will not be permitted to through traffic. Signage and detours will be present directing traffic around the work zone. The work is expected to be completed by May 8, 2026.

Borderland Expressway Phase 2 Project

Monday, March 16 through Friday, March 20, Daily, from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Alternate Lane closures on US54 EB/WB between Mesquite Hills and McCombs. Mesquite Hills reduced to one lane between US54 and Red Man Dr. Flaggers will be on site directing traffic as needed for haul trucks crossing Mesquite Hills. Flaggers will be on site directing traffic as needed for haul trucks crossing at McCombs and Stan Roberts.

Crews will be transporting earth embankment into the project.

UPCOMING CLOSURES

Borderland Expressway Phase 2 Full Weekend Closure

Saturday, March 28 through Monday, March 30, 24/7, from 4 a.m. on 3/28/26 to 6 a.m. on 3/30/26 (50hr closure)

Full roadway closure of FM3255 (Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd.) NB/SB between FM2529 (Stan Roberts Ave.) and NM404 (O'Hara Rd.). Local traffic will be allowed to access businesses and residences between NM404 (O'Hara Rd.) and the TX/NM state line. Traffic will be detoured using NM404 (O'Hara Rd.), IH-10, LP375 (Woodrow Bean Transmountain Rd.) and US54. See detour sheet below.

Crews will be working on a traffic switch to allow for construction of FM3255 (Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd.) new road configuration.
