Interstates:
I-10 Business Loop 22, Pine St. Resurfacing Project, Mile Marker 0 to 4.2, Deming
Intermountain Slurry Seal Inc., (Contractor) has begun a resurfacing project on Pine Street. Work will take place nightly for approximately 25 days, from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. Residents along Pine Street may experience some noise during operations, but the contractor will make efforts to minimize disruptions. During construction, single-lane closures will be in effect in both eastbound and westbound directions throughout working hours.
I-10 Bridge Deck Repairs, Mile Marker 5 Road Forks
A Mountain Construction (Contractor) will be continuing with bridge deck repairs on Interstate 10 at mile marker 5. During this work, westbound I-10 traffic will not be able to cross over to access NM 80 southbound. Traffic traveling northbound on NM 80 may turn right onto I-10 eastbound; however, left turns onto I-10 westbound will not be permitted. Overnight lane closures will be in place throughout the duration of the project. Motorists are advised to reduce speeds, use caution in the work zone, and follow all posted signage. The project is anticipated to be completed by May 2026.
I-10 Bridge Deck Repairs, Mile Marker 81 eastbound, Deming
A Mountain Construction (Contractor) will be finalizing repairs to the bridge deck on I-10 at mile marker 81 in the eastbound lane. A 10-foot width restriction will be in place. Overnight lane closures will remain in place until the repairs are completed. Please reduce speeds and follow construction signage. This project is expected to be completed by May 2026.
I-25 Guardrail Replacement Project, Mile Marker 6 to 14.2, Las Cruces to Dona AnaLC00384
J-H Supply Company, Inc. (Contractor) will begin a guardrail and concrete barrier wall project on Interstate 25 from Las Cruces to just north of Doña Ana starting May 11. Once work begins, lane closures will be in place in both directions for guardrail removal and replacement.
I-25 Drilling, Mile Marker 106 to 107, north of T or C
WSP (Contractor) will implement lane closures on Interstate 25 in both northbound and southbound directions, as needed, between mile markers 106 and 107 (approximately 27–28 miles north of Truth or Consequences). These closures are required to allow crews to drill test holes in preparation for the upcoming Nogal Canyon Bridge replacement project. Work is scheduled Monday through Friday, from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., and is expected to continue through May 8.
I-25 Roadway Rehabilitation Project, Mile Marker 125 to 139, south of SocorroCN1102190
Mountain States Constructors Inc. (Contractor) has begun a roadway reconstruction project on I-25 from mile marker 125 to mile marker 139(San Antonio). Lane closures will be in place on both the southbound and northbound lanes for milling and paving operations. Speed limits will be reduced throughout the project. Contractor's working hours will be 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday, with the possibility of weekend work.
I-25 Lane Closure, Mile Marker 43, Hatch
Mountain States Constructors Inc. (Contractor) will have a lane closure in place on both the northbound driving right lanes and southbound passing left lane of I-25 at mile marker 43 for heavy equipment entry into the materials pit. Please reduce speeds and follow posted construction signage. This closure will be in place Monday through Friday from 5:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.
I-25 Business Loop Roadway Rehabilitation Project, T or C Downtown
Roadsafe Traffic Systems (Contractor) will continue with pavement marking adjustments to the downtown T or C area. Lane closures will be in place for the contractor to eradicate existing striping and will then fog seal the area. This project is expected to take no more than 60 working days. Contractors' working hours are Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
The road diet enhancement project does specifically target traffic calming and driver guiding to enhance safety for all roadway users. This project will be reconfiguring the road markings to mitigate municipal safety concerns while maintaining the road diet concept. New and clear signage will be installed to guide you along the road with ease. A new Delineator System will improve visibility and prevent vehicles from accidentally entering into the bikeway. Other Construction Enhancements will include radar speed feedback units, will support the road users, ensuring smoother and safer traffic flow for everyone.

NM 213 & NM 404, Roadway Widening, Mile Marker 0 to 2, Chaparral E100321/322
FNF Construction Inc. (Contractor) has begun roadway reconstruction project on NM 213 and NM 404. This project was placed into suspension as on February 25, 2026, due to unforeseen issues impacting ongoing construction.
NM 101, University Ave Multimodal Project, Mesilla LC00290
La Calerita Construction, LLC. (Contractor) will be finalizing the multi-modal project on University Avenue/New Mexico State Road 101 from Avenida de Mesilla to South Main Street. The following traffic impacts are now in place:
Only one lane of eastbound traffic will be open on NM 101 (University Ave) between Avenida de Mesilla and S Main Street Traffic heading westbound is detoured to W Union Ave. Access will be maintained to all residents and Zia Middle School.
This phase is expected to last through April 2026. Additional construction phases will follow, with the project expected to be completed in Fall of 2026. Work hours are Monday-Friday 7 a.m.-4:30 p.m. although the contractor may work longer hours or on weekends as needed. All construction is weather permitting and is subject to change without notice. NM 11, Box Culvert, Mile Marker .08, Columbus Port of Entry
Morrow Ent. Inc. (Contractor) will be constructing a concrete box at the intersection of NM 11 and El Paso Ave, just north of the Port of Entry. Speed limits will be reduced, please obey traffic control devices. The contractor's hours of operation will be from 6:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday and work is expected to be completed by Fall 2026.
NM 136, Lighting Project, Santa Teresa
Apache Barricade (Traffic Control) will have lane closures in place on NM 135 southbound lanes from mile marker 5 to 6 for the placement of fiber for lumen and communications. Also expected shoulder work and sidewalk closures due to construction and boring. Work is scheduled to begin May 4 to May 18, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily.
Tour of the Gila:
SILVER CITY - The 39th annual Tour of the Gila bicycle race, returns to southern New Mexico Wednesday, April 29, through Sunday, May 3, 2026.
Law enforcement agencies will provide traffic control as racers travel through various routes and will be stationed on NM 90, US 180, NM 152, NM 356, NM 15, and NM 35 to secure the safety of cyclists, spectators, and motorists. Motorists may encounter intermittent closures. Please expect delays.

Sunday, May 3, The Gila Monster Road Race: US 180 starts at Gough Park, continuing to NM 152, onto NM 35 looping to NM 15, and finishes at Pinos Altos. The closure on NM 15 will be in both directions from milepost 7 to milepost 25 from 7:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
Chip Seal Projects, Luna Co:
NM 9, Fog Sealing, Mile Marker 86 to 110, Columbus
NMDOT Maintainers have completed Fog Sealing operations on NM 9 from Animas to the Dona Ana/Luna County line. Roadway is scheduled for striping.
The New Mexico Department of Transportation (NMDOT) has begun Chip seal operations on roadways in the Deming area of Luna County. During operations, drivers can expect flagging personnel, pilot vehicles, and temporary stops. Brooming will occur during and after the sealing process. Loose gravel may remain on road surfaces for a few days post-treatment. Work will take place Monday through Friday, from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Note that center striping will be absent in work zones until completion. Roads scheduled for chip sealing, in order:

Las Cruces Motorist are advised that N. Melendres St. between W. Hadley Ave. and W. Picacho Ave. will continue with the Reconstruction Project by A-Mountain Construction. During construction, access to N. Melendres St. will not be permitted to through traffic. Signage and detours will be present directing traffic around the work zone. The work is expected to be completed by May 8, 2026.
