Interstates: 

I-25 Guardrail Replacement Project, Mile Marker 6 to 14.2, Las Cruces to Dona AnaLC00384

J-H Supply Company, Inc. (Contractor) will be continuing a guardrail and concrete barrier wall project on Interstate 25 from Las Cruces to just north of Doña Ana. Traffic Control and lane closures will be in place 24/7 in both directions for guardrail removal and replacement. Crews are currently installing concrete barrier wall. Speed limits will be reduced throughout the project. Contractors' working hours are Monday through Friday from 6 a.m. to 5 p.m. 

I-25 Roadway Rehabilitation Project, Mile Marker 70 to 85, T or C CN 1102320/1102330

Mountain States Constructors Inc. (Contractor) will be continuing a roadway reconstruction project on I-25 from mile marker 70 to mile marker 85 (Cuchillo). Lane closures will be in place on both the southbound and northbound lanes for guardrail removal and replacement, and also for milling and paving operations. Speed limits will be reduced throughout the project. Contractor's working hours will be 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday, with the possibility of weekend work. 

US Roadways:

State Roadways:

NM 273, Roadway Rehabilitation, Mile Marker .8 to 6, Sunland Park

Cutler Repaving (Contractor) will begin a roadway rehabilitation project on NM 273 (McNutt Rd.) in both the northbound and southbound lanes from mile marker 0, Texas State Line to mile marker 6, 1 mile south of Santa Teresa. Speed limits will be reduced throughout the project. Contractor's working hours will be 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Saturday. 

NM 26, Pavement Preservation and Centerline Rumble Strips, Deming to Hatch1102360

Hasse Contracting Company Inc. (Contractor), motorists should expect daytime lane closures and a pilot car operation in both directions on NM 26 from mile marker 0 at US 180 working towards mile marker 46 in Hatch as crews complete crack sealing, fog sealing and installation of centerline rumble strips. As part of NMDOT's Target Zero initiative, centerline rumble strips are being installed to help reduce head-on and crossover crashes by alerting inattentive drivers who drift across the centerline. Work is scheduled from 6:30 a.m. to 7 p.m., Monday through Friday, with the possibility of weekend work as needed.

NM 213 & NM 404, Roadway Widening, Mile Marker 0 to 2, Chaparral E100321/322

FNF Construction Inc. (Contractor) will be resuming roadway reconstruction project on NM 213 and NM 404 on Monday, Sept. 21, 2026. During Phase 1, expected to last about eight (8) months, through April-May 2027, crews will be working on the west frontage road of NM 213 as well as building temporary detour pavement between the new bypass route and NM 404 and will also begin construction of the flyover. Regular work hours will be 6 a.m.-6 p.m. Monday-Friday, although the contractor may work longer hours or on weekends as needed. Since NM 213 is a major commuter route, the contractor will be working to minimize delays during construction. Construction on the total project is expected to last about 21 months, through summer 2028.  All construction is weather permitted and it subject to change without notice.

Chip Seal Projects, Luna Co:

The New Mexico Department of Transportation (NMDOT) will be completing Chip Seal operations on roadways in the Deming area of Luna County. During operations, drivers can expect flagging personnel, pilot vehicles, and temporary stops. Brooming will occur during and after the sealing process. Loose gravel may remain on road surfaces for a few days post-treatment. Work will take place Monday through Friday, from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Note that center striping will be absent in work zones until completion. Crews are currently fog sealing the below listed areas.

Various I-10 Frontage Roads (Akela area) NM 418, milepost 10 to 12 (Old Lordsburg Highway)

City of Las Cruces Projects:

Lohman Ave. and Walnut St. Intersection

Lohman Avenue near Walnut Street will have intermittent lane closures starting Tuesday, September 8, 2026, and lasting through Friday, September 11, 2026. A Mountain Professional Construction will be performing roadway and signal improvements at the intersection during this time.

Tuesday, Sept. 8 – Friday, Sept. 11 (As Needed), Daily, 9 a.m. – 4 p.m.

I-10 east and westbound between Los Mochis and Mesa alternate lane closures North and South Desert between Los Mochis and Mesa alternate lane closures Entrance ramp, exit ramp, and U-turn, east and westbound between Los Mochis alternate lane closures. 

Crews will be working on construction items.

I-10 westbound Bypass lanes between Mesa and Redd full closure

Detour: Traffic will continue along North Desert, through Thorn intersection, and enter I-10 before Redd.

I-10 eastbound Bypass lanes between Redd and Mesa full closure

Detour: Traffic will continue along South Desert, through the Thorn intersection, and enter I-10 before Mesa.

Crews will be working on completing the landscaping.

Borderland Expressway Phase 2

Closures 9/7/26 through 9/11/26

Tuesday, September 8 through Friday, September 11, Daily, from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Alternate Lane closures on US54 EB/WB between Mesquite Hills and McCombs. Mesquite Hills reduced to one lane between US54 and Red Man Dr. Flaggers will be on site directing traffic as needed for haul trucks crossing Mesquite Hills.

Daily, from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Flaggers will be on site directing traffic as needed for haul trucks crossing at McCombs and Stan Roberts.

Crews will be performing bridge work and transporting earth embankment into the project.
