Santa Fe, NM – Today, the New Mexico House of Representatives passed the Senate "Rocket Docket" bills that will now head to Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham's desk for signing. Each of the bills received bipartisan support over the last two legislative sessions and received less than five votes in opposition.
"I am very proud of the bipartisan work the House of Representatives has done to get these important, common-sense bills to Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham," said Speaker of the House, Rep. Brian Egolf (D-Santa Fe). "New Mexico families do not have time to waste, and we must act swiftly to make real and meaningful change for the future of our state. Now is the time for bold change and passing this slate of legislation, which should have been signed into law over the last two years, is the first step in creating the change our families need."
Earlier today, the Senate Chamber passed the "Rocket Docket" bills the House of Representatives sent to them last week. Combined, the House and Senate chambers will have sent 44 common-sense bills to Governor Lujan Grisham for consideration.
Each of the bills included in the Rocket Docket received five or fewer votes in opposition in either chamber during the 2017 or 2018 legislative sessions. These bills will now be sent to the Governor to be signed into law.
