WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
1. PROGRESSIVES SEEK TO DAMAGE NM ECONOMY - THIS TIME WITH UNNECESSARY ENVIRONMENTAL RULES
House Bill 206 seeks to create an Environmental Protection Act (EPA) for New Mexico
Will cause most public and private developments to be delayed due to time consuming and unnecessary environmental reviews if there is an "environmental effect" -- reviews that require a minimum of 6 months and as much as 18 months to conclude, not including appeals and litigation!
Of course, sponsoring Democrats Rep. Gail Chasey and Sen. Mimi Stewart don't define "environmental effect," in this bill so it can mean anything anyone wants it to mean.
The Republican Party of New Mexico OPPOSES this bill which would cause New Mexico's recovering economy to stall.
2). REPUBLICANS LEAD STATE IN ADVOCATING FOR FOSTER FAMILIES AND IMPROVING CHILD WELFARE IN NEW MEXICO
Introduced by Republicans Rep. Kelly Fajardo, Rep. Rebecca Dow and Rep. David Gallegos, House Bill 303 helps ease the burden of foster families and expands their educational and wholesome recreational options
HB 303 would provide free admission for foster parents and children in their custody to state museums and parks, flew through the House Energy, Environmental and Natural Resources committee with unanimous support
