The Lady Stangs' quest for their first win continues after a tough home loss to Colorado Mesa University, 88-71. The Lady Stangs were in the game up until the last 5 or 6 minutes but with the injuries depleting their ranks you could see the Mavs wearing out the home team. CMU shot 48% from the floor on the night to 43% for the Stangs who used strong 3 point shooting in the first half to keep the game close. At one point the purple and gold hit 6 three point shots in a row. But 16 Stang turnovers lead to 31 CMU points and that was the difference in the game.
Colorado Mesa had 5 players score in double figures lead by Tara Gehring with 19 points; 3 other players tallied 14 points for the visiting team who remained unbeaten in RMAC play. WNMU was lead by Jelesia Gray with 19 points; Morgan Wolhtman hit 5 three point shots ending the night with 17 points followed by Kassie Scott with 12. The Mustangs continue to improve and will look for their first win tonight at home hosting Western State College at 5:30 p.m.
