The Western New Mexico Lady Mustangs went up against a talented Lone Star Conference opponent Thursday night at #11 West Texas A&M.

The Buffs led from the outset and would not give it up, leading for all but two minutes when the score was tied in the first quarter. Despite forcing 20 Buffs turnovers the Mustangs were unable to find their rhythm offensively, and would eventually fall on the road.

Tatyanna McFarland (Riverside, California/Valley View High School) led the Mustangs offensively, coming up with another double-double. She finished with 12 points and 11 rebounds. Ciara Fields (El Paso, TX/El Dorado) added 14 points to lead Western.

Western will be back on the road Saturday afternoon when they visit in-state and LSC rival Eastern New Mexico.
