Local golf pros Dominic Curran and Eric Chavez took on the challenge of playing 100 holes of golf to raise money for junior golf. Maybe they should begin playing all of their tournaments at break neck speed. The pair completed play in 6 1/2 hours; a normal 18 hole round at Silver City Golf Course takes about 3 1/2 hours. Curran shot rounds of 71/70/69/64/69 and an even par 40 for the final 10 holes. Chavez fired 72/72/65/66/70 and a 40 as well on the 10 hole mini-round. Curran was 17 under par while Chavez was 15 under par.

The event raised money for the Sun Country Junior Golf Foundation and Drew Hunter Junior Golf Program. The duo raised approximately $1000. Anyone wishing to donate money can still do so by calling 538-5041 or visiting the Silver City Golf Course pro shop.
