NCAA Division I football teams like Alabama, Oklahoma and Notre Dame may not have a playoff to determine the national champion, but D-II teams have a bracket. Two teams from the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference have been selected to participate in the post season. RMAC Champions Colorado State University Pueblo finished the season at 11-0 and ranked #1 in the AFCA National Poll. Their efforts earned a #1 seed in Super Region 4 and a first round bye. CSU-Pueblo will play the winner of Indianapolis (9-2) and Midwestern State (9-1) the 4/5 seeds in the regional bracket.
Chadron State College was selected as an at large bid out of the RMAC after finishing 2nd in the RMAC and ranked third in the final regional standings as well as being a top 15 team in the AFCA National Poll. The Eagles (9-2) will host West Texas A&M from the Lone Star Conference. While the Eagles did not face WTAM in the regular season this year, West Texas was beaten by CSU-Pueblo 44-34 in the first week of the season and then defeated Western State College of Colorado the following weekend, 57-20.
Chadron will host WTAM this Saturday while second round play will take place the weekend of November 24 at the home site of the higher seed.
