Colorado Mesa University is the lone undefeated team in Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference women's basketball after defeating WNMU and NMHU this past weekend. A pair of players from the Mavericks were named the Players of the Week for their efforts. Kelsey Sigl was named the Offensive POTW, while Katrina Selsor earned Defensive POTW honors.
Sigl, Senior forward, had a game high 17 points in the Mavs 63-50 win over Western New Mexico on Friday night. She also tied for a game high 8 rebounds. 15 of her points came in the first half when she was 7-14 from the field. Against New Mexico Highlands, Sigl tallied a season and game high 19 points to go along with 9 rebounds. She also had three assists and was 8-12 from the field.
Selsor, Senior guard, had 5 rebounds against WNMU along with a blocked shot and two steals. Against Highlands, Selsor had a career high 15 rebounds to go along with 17 points. She also had 5 steals which was a game and season high as well.
Right behind Mesa in the RMAC standings are five teams with 3-1 conference records: Colorado Christian, CSU-Pueblo, UC-Colorado Springs, Colorado Mines and New Mexico Highlands. Colorado Mesa entered the top 25 rankings at number 25 in this week's voting. CSU-Pueblo and Ft. Lewis both received votes in the national polls. CSU-Pueblo and UC-Colorado Springs will visit Silver City Friday and Saturday night for a tilt against the Lady Stangs.
