SANTA FE'Despite an uproar that lasted for four months at the end of last year over improper use of campaign funds, no one had attempted to address the issue in this year's legislative session'until Representative Nora Espinoza offered an approach to the troublesome issue.
Espinoza's House Bill 310 was greeted with bipartisan enthusiasm in Saturday's meeting of the House Government, Elections and Indian Affairs Committee.
State Representative Antonio "Moe" Maestas referred to Espinoza's detailed effort as "awesome work," as committee members agreed unanimously to create a committee substitute bill endorsing the Roswell Republican's definition of prohibited expenditures.
