Washington, D.C. — Power The Future (PTF) and Defend Forgotten America (DFA) are urging President Trump to order a massive review of Biden-era regulations the Justice Department is still defending in court. In their letter, PTF and DFA note that President Trump issued an order barring executive-branch government employees from advocating legal positions that conflict with the administration's and warn that some agencies are still arguing Biden-era positions in court. PTF and DFA are asking for a review to determine just how many such cases are still ongoing.
"President Trump was elected to end the war on American energy, but in courtrooms across the country, government lawyers are still defending the Biden agenda that the American people soundly rejected," said Daniel Turner, Founder and Executive Director of Power The Future. "For all their boasting about fighting for democracy, it appears some in government openly reject the agenda the voters approved. American families should not be funding lawyers in the administration who are arguing for rules and regulations rejected at the ballot box."
The PTF/DFA letter highlights cases including Biden's 2024 power plant rule, a remake of the Obama Clean Power Plan the Supreme Court struck down. The rule is still partly on the books and DOJ attorneys have yet to admit it was illegal.
Power The Future is a 501c4 non-profit dedicated to fighting for American energy workers.
