The Southwest Regional Art Museum and Cultural Center held a pop-up museum in the old Post Office on Broadway over two weekends, October. 10 and 11 and October. 17 and 18, 2026.

The building has been chosen to house the future art museum. Money is being and has been collected to purchase the building and do renovations and additions to bring the museum to fruition.  The pop-up museums show the potential of the building and its location across the side street from the Silver City Museum.

A large collection of artwork has already been donated to the museum, and this pop-up event showed some of it.

The proposed additions to the structure were developed by board member Christopher Saxman, who has been involved in the project since its inception, several years ago.

The group has already provided and will continue to pursue outreach educational programs  to schools across the area
