Bayard Public Library, in partnership with Frontier Food Hub, New Mexico Wild, and Heart of the Gila, invites the community to come together for the Bayard Earth Day Celebration on Wednesday, April 22, from 4:00 to 7:30 p.m. at the Bayard Community Center, 209 Hurley Ave, Bayard. This free, family‑friendly event will celebrate Earth Day through a community trash clean up, hands-on crafts and activities, and a free community dinner.

The celebration will begin at 4:00 p.m. with a community trash clean‑up, running until 6:00 p.m., giving volunteers the opportunity to help care for the public spaces around the Community Center and a trail near Bayard Elementary. Craft and activity booths will be available from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m., offering Earth Day crafts and educational activities by organizations such as LULAC Council 8003, Tree NM, Silver City Watershed Keepers and Healthy Kids Healthy Communities.

At 6:00 p.m., attendees are invited to enjoy a free community dinner, served until 7:30 p.m., providing time for neighbors to gather and celebrate together.

"This is our second year celebrating Earth Day with our community partners, and we hope it continues to become a lasting community tradition," said Cindy "Renee" Provencio, Head Librarian at Bayard Public Library. "It's a wonderful opportunity to beautify our community, enjoy fellowship with neighbors, and learn how small actions can make a meaningful impact on our environment."

Event organizers will provide trash bags, gloves, and food and drinks. Trash clean up participants are encouraged to bring closed toe shoes, a reusable water bottle, and friends and family.
