Silver City, NM — Community Partnership for Children (CPC) has announced the launch of CPC Curiosity Corners, a new initiative bringing free, hands‑on learning and play opportunities into local businesses throughout the community. The first Curiosity Corner will open Tuesday, April 7, 2026, at 1:00 PM at Flowers on 11th, beginning with a ribbon‑cutting ceremony followed by refreshments.

CPC, a nonprofit focused on improving early childhood care and education in Grant County, developed Curiosity Corners to make learning more accessible for families with young children. Each Corner is a small, themed activity station placed inside a participating business, offering children a chance to explore, build, sort, create, and learn while caregivers shop or run errands.

"Curiosity Corners are designed to show that learning doesn't just happen in classrooms," CPC said in a statement. "It can happen anywhere — in a flower shop, a café, a grocery store. When communities support families, children thrive."

Each Corner features rotating seasonal themes, simple hands‑on activities, and open layouts that allow caregivers to easily supervise children. The stations are free to use and require no registration.

Families can also take part in the Curiosity Corner Punch Card Adventure, a community‑wide activity encouraging families to visit multiple Corner locations. Participants collect punches at each site and can turn in completed cards for prizes. Monthly drawings will offer additional rewards for families who explore the full network of Curiosity Corners.

The project is guided by the message: "Where Gila Waters Flow, Little Dreams Grow."

A special thank‑you goes to Aaron Kelts for his exceptional craftsmanship; La Rea Holladay for being the first to champion this vision within the community; Stephen Lindsey of Future Forge for the beautiful laser engraving that brings each Curiosity Corner to life; and the Southwest Community Foundation for their generous grant funding that helped make this project possible. CPC noted that without the support of these contributors, Curiosity Corners would not have come together.

CPC invites families, community members, and local businesses to attend the launch event and learn how to participate in the growing network of Curiosity Corners.
