The Church of the Good Shepherd is offering a series of workshops dealing with end-of-life issues open to the community without charge. They will be once a month, on a Saturday, from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM in the parish hall of the church, which can be accessed from the parking lot on the corner of 6th and Arizona.
The THIRD SESSION will be this coming Saturday, April 18th. There will be discussion of different forms and several that can be filled out during this session. Several forms that can be filled out will include DNR (do not resuscitate) form that will be completed with your physician or PA; a family list that can be posted on your refrigerator for members of the family so they will know your wishes if you become ill or near death; a pet directive so your fur babies are taken care of ( this will be filed with your vet and with family papers); living wills; and power of attorney. Conversation will be about wills and trusts that must be completed with your lawyer.
The final session, May 23rd, we will talk about celebrating your life and sharing your story, with a focus on funeral planning, burial options and obituary writing.
All are welcome to join for one or more of these sessions.
