AuditionsSILVER CITY, NM — Grant County performers, storytellers, musicians, improvisers, designers, technicians, costumers, and theatre-curious humans of all experience levels are invited to audition for the upcoming 2026–2027 theatre season on Friday, June 19 from 6:00–9:00 PM at The Hearth, 1915 N. Swan St..

Auditions will be held on a first come, first seen basis.

Participants are encouraged to prepare two contrasting audition pieces, each 1–3 minutes in length. Auditions may include:

monologues storytelling songs movement or dance improvisation

Organizers emphasize that prior theatre experience is not required. The season is seeking not only actors, but also artists, costumers, technicians, musicians, stage managers, and collaborative creatives interested in helping build a vibrant local theatre culture.

The season includes:

One Act Festival featuring works including Illuminati Drama Libre by Alice Gerstenberg and A Matter of Husbands by Ferenc Molnár Living History Enactors for collaborative programs with Silver City Theatre and Silver City Museum The Last Angry Brown Hat by Alfredo Ramos Interactive murder mystery Murder on the Air An irreverent holiday improv production The musical Working, based on the book by Studs Terkel The Vagina Monologues, by Eve Ensler Exit Laughing, by Paul C. Elliot Private Lives, by Noel Coward DitchSpeare 2027

The season is being developed collaboratively through local artists and community partnerships centered at The Hearth.
