Bayard, New Mexico — The Mining District is getting ready for its 4th annual October Community Cleanups, and Mining District Pride is seeking volunteers to help remove trash, debris, litter and graffiti from communities throughout the Mining District.
The cleanups will be held from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. on three Fridays: Hurley on October 9, Bayard on October 16, and Santa Clara on October 23. Residents, businesses, organizations, schools, churches and community groups are all encouraged to take part.
Volunteers will work together to pick up litter, remove trash and debris, address graffiti and clean up areas that need attention. Businesses and organizations are encouraged to make the cleanup an employee volunteer day or community service project. Individuals and families are also welcome to join.
No special experience is needed. Just bring a willingness to help and be ready to spend a few hours working outside. Whether you volunteer for one cleanup or all three, every extra set of hands makes a difference.
