Thirteen convenience centers will be open on Election Day throughout Grant County. Some may be the same where certain precincts have voted before, but many folks will show up at their "regular" precinct voting place to find that it is not open.
More than 35 precincts are located in Grant County, so with only 13 centers open, almost two-thirds of voters may find their former voting places shuttered on Election Day.
Only TWO convenience centers will be open within Silver City- The Woman's Club and the Grant County Business and Conference Center. One in each of the mining district municipalities will be open -in Santa Clara, National Guard Armory; in Bayard, Bayard Community Center; and in Hurley, the Hurley Community Center. In addition, one is in the Tyrone Community Center, which is close to Silver City.
Father out in the county, sites for Election Day include: Cliff School, Redrock Church, Pinos Altos Volunteer Fire Department, Sapillo VFD, San Lorenzo Elementary School, Mule Creek Community Center and Hachita Baptist Church.
Voters may vote early at the Grant County Clerk's Office from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday-Friday. In addition, beginning on Saturday, Oct. 20, The Bayard Community Center will be open from 9 a.m.-6 p.m. Tuesday-Saturday.
