The Silver City-Grant County Historic Chamber of Commerce has chosen its new director, according to incoming President Trent Petty.
Sherry Logan accepted the position on Tuesday, Dec. 4. She will replace Lola Polley, who is leaving after a stint in the position.
"Somebody recommended me for the position," Logan said. "I received a call, did an interview, thought about it, and was chosen. I'm looking forward to meeting with the members to learn about their needs."
The Chamber of Commerce has recently moved into its new facility at 3130C E. Highway 180. "Our main focus right now is to get settled into the new building," Logan said, "but we will soon be announcing an open house to say farewell to Lola and the exiting board members, and hello to the incoming board members."
She said she is excited about the position and is looking forward to making positive changes in the chamber.
Logan has most recently worked as office manager of the Silver City Arts and Cultural District. She serves as a Mimbres Region Arts Council board member, and worked many years in technology and human resources at Comcast.
