The new CT scanner is installed at Gila Regional Medical Center (GRMC).

Workers completed installation and their work has passed State inspection. Currently the scanner is being calibrated and GRMC Caregivers have begun 2-weeks of software application training. Patients will be seen beginning Monday, November 7.

Gila Regional Medical Center is the only hospital in New Mexico, El Paso, and Tucson to provide this high quality CT imaging. The Toshiba Aquillion Premium 160 slice CT scanner is designed to provide patients a lower dose of radiation, the larger table will make exams more comfortable, and provide physicians with an advanced imaging technology.

"At the end of the day we want to be able to provide patients and their physicians the most timely, accurate diagnosis which is crucial to improving the patient's health," said Bernie Rubenzer, GRMC Imaging Director, "This new machine enables us to acquire higher quality images in less time with a lower dose of radiation and at great patient comfort."

Tours of the new scanner will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 9 from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m., beginning in the hospital's Imaging Services waiting area.

Gila Regional Medical Center is a not-for-profit county-own facility that offers Imaging Services to both hospital patients and patients with prescriptions for imaging services. Our integrated electronic records are networked so practitioners can access your radiology medical records from their location. Look online for more information at www.grmc.org.
